Description: Collect ten delicious cupcakes by correctly identifying musical symbols. 30 symbols are presented in sets of three. Students must answer all three multiple choice questions correctly to "unlock" a cupcake and move on to the next set. Incorrect answers will send them back to the beginning of the set to try again. When all cupcakes have been unlocked the student earns a bonus card in which they can decorate three cupcakes with their own design. Symbols included are: crescendo, mp, slur, repeat sign, fermata, staccato, f, treble clef, accent flat, half rest, staff, quarter note, diminuendo (or decrescendo), time signature, double bar line, p, whole note, quarter rest, bass clef, ff, dotted half note, mf, 8va, tie, whole rest, eighth notes, sharp, half note, pp. All questions are multiple choice. Audio instructions are provided as needed, and alt-text and z-order are used for all images and sound. Although the final card is not accessible for students with motor limitations due to the drag-and-drop feature, it is a bonus activity and not essential for play. Musical terms align with Royal Conservatory Levels Preparatory B, RCM 1, and RCM 2., and work well with the early years of most instrumental programs.
