Description: Think it or say it? - Travel edition! This deck features things a child might think or say during a family vacation, where the child might encounter new experiences, meet people, or spend time in new places. Students identify whether each thought is okay to think (but keep in your head) or to say (out loud to others). By recognizing which thoughts can and should be said aloud, students gain confidence in their ability to navigate new situations and interact appropriately in social gatherings. Deck includes 30 cards. This resource can be used as a discussion starter. Have students talk about why some things are appropriate to say out loud, and why some things, while okay to think, are better left unsaid. Some cards, even though there is a "correct" answer, are somewhat open-ended, and the "correct" answer may be different depending on the situation. (For example, some things might be acceptable to whisper to a parent, but are not okay to blurt out during a guided tour.) Students may wish to explore this in a group discussion.
