Description: Embedded video lesson on first slide! Then students answer 30 questions. Students will learn about the need for a sustainable seafood movement due to overharvesting and the threat it poses to our oceans and environment. The Sustainable Seafood Movement is an initiative to ensure that our oceans can provide an ample supply of fresh food for future generations. Students will also learn how to make informed purchasing decisions for sustainable seafood, such as educating themselves on sustainable fishing and harvesting methods, checking for certification, and using pocket guides. Choosing seafood that repopulates at a high rate or is lower on the food chain, like sardines, tilapia, and mackerel, is also recommended.
