Description: Perfect for pre-emergent and emergent readers who need targeted practice with an isolated sound. Students drag Enrique the Elephant to the picture that begins with the short /e/ sound. All text and picture choices (even the letter “e" that is on each page) are read aloud. Both the cards, and the pictures within each card, are randomized to prevent students from memorizing where to drag Enrique on subsequent plays. **NOTE: This is the second of my beginning sound vowel decks. These sets have 20 cards each, and all the other picture choices in these decks start with a short vowel sound as well (five of each of the other vowel sounds). I attempted, as much as possible, to use words that start with a "pure" short vowel sound, thus words such as “earth" and “error" were left out. For this reason, some of the words in this deck are a bit uncommon. But, as there is an audio file for each and every picture in the deck, students will not need to struggle to figure out what any picture is…and students may even expand their vocabulary a bit as a result.** My email address is kguajardo72@gmail.com. Please be kind and contact me with any issues so I can fix them.
