Description: PURPOSE: To listen to a social statement and make a follow-up, on-topic statement (positive or negative) and a follow-up, on-topic question. Students have difficult knowing how to maintain a social interaction by commenting or asking on-topic questions. With this activity, students are provided with a single statement and can make either a positive (e.g., “That sounds great!”) or negative comment (e.g., “That is too bad!”). They will then ask an on-topic question to follow-up the comment they have made. Drag the blue smiley face (positive) or the red smiley face (negative) into the comment box. Then click on the “question” smiley face when the on-topic question is asked.
