Description: Ways to Show Fractions - Here is... Where is... Game Valentine's Day Pictures & Jokes If your students are like mine, they will "love" playing this digital variation of the class favorite, "I have...Who has..." This game is called, "Here is...Where is..." In this activity, students will match a fractional number to a card showing a fraction as a picture model, part of a group or a number line. As they click each card correctly, a new section of a Valentine's Day Themed picture and joke is revealed. After students play the first time, have them try again and again to beat their best time or improve their accuracy. There are three sets with 15 matching fractions cards for each set. There are 3 jokes and 3 Valentine's Day pictures revealed in all, one for each set. CCSS.MATH.CONTENT.3.NF.A.2 Understand a fraction as a number on the number line; represent fractions on a number line diagram. CCSS.MATH.CONTENT.4.NF.A.1 Explain why a fraction a/b is equivalent to a fraction (n × a)/(n × b) by using visual fraction models, with attention to how the number and size of the parts differ even though the two fractions themselves are the same size. Use this principle to recognize and generate equivalent fractions.
