Description: Use this deck to review the PARTS OF SPEECH (nouns, adverbs, verbs, adjectives, personal pronouns). You can use this for back-to-school or all-year-round activity with your students. BACKGROUND: Today is Mike's first day of school and he is excited to meet his friends and teachers. On his way out to take a shower, he finds out that the door is locked and the key is nowhere to be found. Help Mike by answering different challenges and obtaining codes to unlock the door. We don't want him to be late on his first day of school. Good luck! There are 5 parts of speech included in this deck: 1. NOUNS (10 cards including a short explanation). They identify the noun (common and/or proper noun) and drag the ice cream to the cone. A code will be given when they answer them correctly. 2.ADJECTIVES (6 cards including a short explanation). They identify the adjectives and drag the candy to the candy jar. 3. ADVERBS (4 cards including a short explanation). In this activity, students get to build a cake. They identify the adverbs, build a cake, and add icing to each layer of the cake. 4. VERBS (9 cards including a short explanation). This is a multiple-choice activity where they identify what the girl is doing. 5. PERSONAL PRONOUNS (7 cards including a short explanation). This is an OPEN RESPONSE activity where the students write the sentence using personal pronouns. Example: The leaf is red. - IT is red. There is a short riddle at the end that will help him to choose the key. Enjoy!
