Description: This deck focuses on self regulation by dividing emotions into categories and describing how one might feel in that category. Categories are: Blah (brown), Ready to Learn (yellow), Wiggly or Caution (bright green), and Explosion (red). 4 cards ask student to choose who is in that particular category. 8 cards give scenarios and ask student which category the person is in. 6 cards cover possible strategies to try in situations. This deck can be used as an adjunct to SEL curriculums. If students are familiar with different terminology or colors, they can be shown how each can correspond to the other. Keep in mind that the content is the most important aspect of learning self regulation skills.
