Description: This is a 41-card Earth Day Scavenger Hunt. While completing the hunt, students will learn why Earth Day is celebrated on April 22nd every year, the coldest temperature ever recorded on Earth, the largest desert in the world, how Earth got its name, and more. To complete the hunt, students are presented with a question with some possible answers. Then they read a passage where the information can be found. They receive instant feedback on whether or not they chose the correct answer. The final card in the deck challenges students to write 3 interesting things they learned from the hunt. This deck would be a great activity for Earth Day or as a supplement to a study of Earth or the solar system. It can also be used as an informational text reading lesson or center, or an easy lesson for a sub.
