Description: This set of boom cards has students practice completing a variety of household chores. This is a very interactive and age appropriate way for special education students to practice real world life skills. Household chores that students will practice include: - Rinsing dishes off in the sink - Loading them in a dishwasher - Making their bed - Doing laundry - Hanging clothes up - Cleaning a bathroom - Setting a table - Watering plants - Taking the trash out - Taking a pet for a walk - Feeding a pet - Getting mail - Putting food away in the fridge / freezer - Mowing the lawn Although this is a great activity to practice following directions and functional reading skills in a real world setting, this set can also be used to lead a conversation around household tasks and the steps required to do them correctly. You can ask students how often each task should be done, where the task takes place, what supplies you would need, etc. All of these are great ways to engage students to more meaningfully interact with the lesson in a manner that makes sense to them.
