Description: This BOOM CARDS™ deck targets SPEECH, LANGUAGE, AND LIFE SKILLS using one interactive activity! Perfect for older students, mixed groups, or using functional targets! Students create a map on each card by moving various buildings to the map. The buildings and street names on each map are loaded with a particular sound and/or word position, making articulation treatment easy! There are also a variety of ways to target language, such as description, concepts, directions, etc. Of course, you can also target life skills concepts, such as understanding and use cardinal directions and a compass rose, at the same time! Ideas for using the deck can be found on the first card. From the menu card, select your desired articulation target. The target stimuli for each map are the words for the actual buildings (and streets) on the card. Due to the use of this functional vocabulary, not every sound/word position/cluster is included in this deck (due to not having enough words with that sound). Some targets utilize separate cards for each word position (such as /s/), whereas others combine all word positions onto one card (such as /th/). Some consonant sounds or clusters, such as /sl/ and final /f/, are not included in the activity, simply due to a lack of map-related words with the target.
