Description: Are you looking for ways to have your students practice real world reading in a functional manner? This activity has students sort mail into the correct boxes. Many students at school often work on this skill by delivering mail to teachers as part of their daily jobs. This would be a great lesson to reinforce this job skill in a virtual manner! Two versions of this lesson are provided. Unit one is great for lower level learners who are beginning to match names. I have color coded the name on the document to match the color of the box it should go to. Unit two has the color prompts removed so is more of a challenge to complete. The boxes are alphabetized in ABC order and are presented in a way that mimics something you might see in the real world. This activity is a great way to practice jobs skills and to promote functional reading all at once!
