This challenging laws of exponents St Patricks Day themed activity is a fun, engaging way for your 8th grade, 9th grade or 10th grade students to practice using the product rule, quotient rule, and power rule of exponents and zero and negative exponents. Students answer each of the 20 questions by searching for the answer on a grid of choices. Each time they select the correct answer, they earn another puzzle piece. Once they have successfully answered all of the questions, they have the opportunity to build the puzzle. Questions involve one or two variables, zero and negative exponents and most require students to apply more than one law of exponents. I would suggest you have students write their work on paper before selecting the answer. See the preview to view the first two questions. The questions increase in difficulty.
