Description: After reading the book, "There Was an Old Lady Who Swallowed a Bell," use this interactive deck to target receptive and expressive Christmas-themed vocabulary, sequencing, increasing sentence length, and story retell. The first half of the deck requires your child to receptively identify the target vocabulary words from a field of 3 provided descriptive clues (e.g., "Show me the object that is a type of instrument and makes a ringing sound"). For younger children you can simply state the target vocabulary word, "Show me the bell, bow, gifts, etc." The second half of the deck targets sequencing and story retell by having your child answer simple wh-questions about the story and dragging the picture items into the old lady's mouth in the order she swallowed them in the story! Model and encourage your child to produce four-word sentences by clicking on each picture/word in the sentence strip to tell what the old lady swallowed (e.g., "She swallowed the bell").
