Description: This butterfly beginning sounds activity is a great activity for students to practice matching beginning sounds with the beginning letter of a word. Students will drag the butterfly with the letter that the picture in the middle of the flower begins with. Each beginning sound picture has audio - students can click on the beginning sound picture to hear it read aloud. This Boom Deck comes with 26 cards in total (1 for each letter of the alphabet). Each card has written and audio directions at the top to help students complete each card independently. Each card follows the same format, so once students understand what they are expected to do they will be able to complete each card without having to listen to the directions. The beginning sound pictures are in the middle of the flower. Students can click on the picture to hear the word read aloud. Students will drag one of the three butterflies to the flower to match the beginning sound with the beginning letter. This butterfly-themed beginning sounds activity is great to use to practice letter sounds and for students to identify the initial sound in a word. This is great practice for students working on those foundational phonics skills. These Boom Cards are interactive, no-prep, and self-checking. Students will love the interactive element of dragging a butterfly to the flower on each card. Students will also receive immediate feedback to see if they have made a correct match, and can keep trying until they do!
