Description: This is a 34-card progression-picture Scavenger Hunt that covers interesting facts about Mars. Using this hunt students will learn about why Mars is called the Red Planet, whether or not there is water on Mars, could it sustain life, and more. To complete the hunt, students are presented with 16 statements. After they read a statement, they read a passage to determine if it is true or false. If they choose the correct answer, they will advance to the next statement. If they choose the wrong answer, they can return to the passage to see what they missed. The final card in the deck requires students to write 3 interesting things they learned about Mars. It can be used as to supplement a study of the solar system, a science activity, to build background for a reading lesson, practice for reading informational text, a center, or as an easy lesson for a sub.
