Description: Jane is thinking about /s,z/ words, but doesn't always get it right... This is a group game that targets phonological awareness and articulation practice for /s,z/ (includes Initial, Medial, Final and some blends). Upon turn, student will slide the 'brain' image over to reveal a hidden image. They will then need to determine whether the revealed word has their target sound (/s,z/). If so, they will roll the die and practice saying the word correctly the number of times shown on the die. (Each page includes a die that can be used.) If the revealed word does not have the target sound, it is considered a 'lost' turn and they will lose a point for that turn. Of course, therapists can modify the play rules as best for their group! Students can also be asked to tell the location of the target sound. In addition, they can be asked to identify whether the sound is the /s/ or the /z/ sound. Scores will need to be kept manually as it is not available within game in order to provide for randomized play. There are a total of 90 game cards, 15 of which are 'lost' turn cards.
