Description: Are your students ready for learning the long vowels? This long and short vowel soccer game is a fun way for students to apply the important skill of medial vowel sound discrimination. This phonics activity prepares students to advance from reading CVC to CVCe words. Learners will have interactive practice sorting the long and short vowel pictures. The game features a mnemonic device (short goal/long goal) to help readers remember the types of vowel sounds. Use this activity with your students to review your vowel sound lessons on a Smartboard (using the Fast Play option) or as an independent digital assignment. The Boom Deck has: ~4 teaching slides with sound and self-checking questions ~50 practice slides with long and short vowel pictures and sounds 20 practice cards will run at each play along with the 4 teaching slides.
