Description
Children learning literacy skills need a range of skills including phonics and phonemic awareness. Use our boomcard sets to develop both skills. The "onset" is the initial phonological unit of any word (e.g. c in cat) and the term "rime" refers to the string of letters that follow, usually a vowel and final consonants (e.g. at in cat). Decoding is also an important skill for early readers as it helps them to figure out words they don't know.
