For choices, drag the response to the speech bubble near the character. This is an interactive deck which mainly targets producing comments during conversation. The first few slides teach the child the importance of making comments when conversing with other people. One slide also teaches the child to produce contingent and relevant comments instead of off topic comments. Another slide teaches the use of common comments (e.g., "okay," "cool!," "that's awesome," "oh, no," etc.), depending on the situation. 16 scenes are included and the child can either come up with his/her own comment (fill in the blank/speech bubble) or pick from the 3 choices provided. Just leave the speech bubble blank and click the 'choices' button to see the choices. The 3 choices include 1 relevant and appropriate comment, 1 off topic comment, and 1 and inappropriate comment. If the child has already produced his/her own comment, you may also use the 3 choices to teach other possible comments or teach inappropriate comments. You may also teach empathy when choosing among the 3 choices. After this, you may do role plays and continue the conversation. This then can target other goals, such as: 1. Asking follow-up questions 2. Making comments 3. Topic maintenance 4. Topic termination 5. Turn taking (regulating speaking turns) ...and more! Have fun!
