Subjects: math
Grades: 5,6
Description: Students will divide decimals by easily identifiable single digit multiples using place value understanding to the thousandths as they try to capture the Divulture Monster. These problems can be done using mental math or by using scrap paper to solve. These decks were created to complement the Eureka/Engage NY grade 5 module 1 lesson 13 but can easily be used with any math program or at any time of the year for review. This is one of 17 "Capture the Monster" games that review the 5th grade use of place value and decimals. There is a random "Capture the Monster" boom card in each game, but you can also reward students with printed collectible cards that they can color. The full set of 15 cards can be found here: https://www.teacherspayteachers.com/Product/Monster-Collectible-Classroom-Reward-Cards-2795715 I give my students a card when they have mastered a deck by getting 20 out of 20 cards correct. Students are challenged to keep working on a deck until they earn a card. You can purchase the whole set of 15 decks as a bundle for a very reduced price or you can purchase each deck individually.
