What's Included: This Boom™ Learning deck reviews 25 different text messages and asks the student to determine whether the message is serious or sarcastic based off of the context clues. How do I use This Resource? This is a Boom™ Learning Resource which means that it is no prep/no print! Why do I need this? Relevant resources for middle-high school students can be hard to find. The majority of our older students send text messages and would benefit from working on interpreting sarcasm in text messages. Facial cues and tone of voice help us determine when someone is being sarcastic or serious. However, teenagers most often communicate through text messages where facial cues and tone are not present. This is deck will help review context cues in text messages to determine the tone of the text (serious or sarcastic).
