Description: Talk'n Turkey Quiz Game is a great seasonal game for language groups. There are 25 questions total, separated into five question categories: Vocabulary, Inference, Multiple Meaning, Idioms, & Social Language. There is a focus on abstract language, cognitive flexibility, and pragmatics, which makes it ideal for students with autism, and others with language delays. Answer cards are supplied for every item. Play two ways! Talk'n Turkey can be played with up to 5 players or groups as a "quiz show" style game where points are awarded and tallied for correct answers. Players can also tally "Wishbone Wins" instead of question points, for a simplified version with higher interest for younger students. Play a 2-second video clip to see if “right” or “left” wins the wishbone snap after each answer is discussed. Here are some sample questions: • Vocabulary: What does an oven do? (heats / cooks food) • Inference: Grandpa had a second slice with whipped cream but, he never eats the crust. What was Grandpa eating? (pie) • Multiple Meaning: Why didn't the turkey want more to eat? He was stuffed! (“stuffed” can mean filled with bread when cooked, a stuffed turkey toy, or "stuffed" can mean full / not hungry). • Idioms: Lindsay’s plans are pie in the sky. Should you count on what he says? (No. “Pie in the sky” means a plan or wish that is not realistic). • Pragmatics: Why don’t we take second helpings before everyone has had a dish? (Because there might not be enough for everyone.
