Description: R is such a challenging sound! It is helpful to try different strategies. One of the strategies that I have found helpful, especially when the student was able to produce /r/ in initial position better than the other positions has been coarticulation. Coarticulation is a strategy which can be used to help shape vocalic R from prevocalic R. Due to the great success of my coarticulation R Tic Tac Toe Boards, I have created another Boom Card focusing on practicing the strategy of coarticulation. This is meant to be a supplement to my first deck. Once the student understands the concept of the coarticulation strategy, this Boom Deck provides dynamic practice manipulating multiple variations of each of the six vocalic Rs in combination with various consonants to provide greater practice and reinforce the strategy in an engaging and dynamic way.
