Price: $2 USD

Subjects: speech,ela

Grades: 3,4,5,6

Description

Students will practice manipulating affixes: un-, im-, il-, -ize, -ity to bases: real, stable, able (all base words end with /l/ phoneme). The concept covered is how sometimes there are vowel sound changes when adding suffixes, and this can even help us spell the related words (e.g., unreal, reality, realize) Next, students will spell words with similar bases and the same affixes. Students can move a barrier to "check the board" if they are unsure, building metacognitive skills. Audio on each slide, including the spelling words and sentences to tie in meaning.
