Description: This FREEBIE Basketball Idioms in Context deck features 21 cards designed to target idioms in a fun and practical way. Page 1 is a Menu card where teachers or students can navigate to either the Identifying Meaning or the Creating Sentences pages. On the identifying meaning level, students are presented with a picture and a contextually-relevant sentence containing a target idiom. Students are asked to identify the correct meaning of the target item, when presented with a field choice of 3 to select from. On the Creating Sentences level, students are provided with a picture and a target idiom and are asked to to create a sentence using the target idiom in the open text box provided. There are 10 total basketball idioms presented. This would be a great addition to your March Madness activities!
