Description: I always love when we get to the point of the year where I can introduce long vowels! I usually like to introduce the long E spelling with EE and EA right after I introduce the CVCE spelling of A, I, O, and U. This fun and interactive deck is a perfect activity to use to help your students deepen their understanding and use of the EE and EA long E sound. This deck focuses on only the long E sound with EE and EA. In the first activity students will look at pictures and listen to two words that are spelled similarly (ex. met, meat). They will then drag the correct spelling of the word to the picture. In the second activity. students will look at pictures and listen to each word. They will then drag the EE or EA to the middle of the word if it's a long vowel and E if it's short. I've set this deck up to have 5 cards together with the EE spelling and then 5 cards together with the EA spelling (10 cards of this activity in this section). In the final activity, students will look at a picture and listen to the word. They'll then use the letter tiles to drag to spell the word in letter boxes. This section also has the EE words (5 words) separated from the EA words (5 words) to help your students not get confused between the two. Every word in this deck has sound to help your students to be successful independently!
