Description: I chose the emotions in this book based on developmental milestones with identifying feelings. Most 3-5-year-olds will identify and use 3-4 feeling words. The targets in this book are relatable to this age group (happy, sad, scared, mad). If you are looking for more feelings, I have a book similar to this with 10 different feelings for older students. Read the book to the student. At the top of each page, there is a short passage about the child, the student will select how they think each child feels. They will tap the box and then slide the flap to see if they are right. (Please note: if you push “submit” on the boom card menu, it will not be correct unless you select the emoji under the flap too. I did not design this to use with the submit button, the student will push “Next” to go to the next card). On the next page, the student will match the emoji to the box in the phrase and verbalize the phrase (“He/She feels a _____”). At the bottom of this page, the student is asked to think about and tell about a time they had that feeling. I also included two optional activities at the end of the book with even more pictures of children with feelings (happy, mad, sad, scared). Feelings tap: The students will look at the child and tap the feeling. Feelings sort: The student will drag the student to their matching emoji.
