Description: These summer themed short stories are a perfect no prep, digital resource for summer speech language therapy sessions. This summer activity includes tasks targeting comprehension, wh questions, sequencing, & story retell for your early/middle elementary caseload. SLP’s can read a short story and then work on wh questions or check for comprehension by having students answer six corresponding questions. Then use the drag and drop feature to sequence the 4 part story and retell the story in their own words. There are two story retell graphic organizers available - one with pictures and one with blank fill-it-in text boxes. You can also use the draw feature to refer back to the story at any time to underline/circle context clues, the answers to the comprehension questions, the main character and setting story elements, and any other language goal you might be working on (e.g. past tense verbs, plural nouns, compound sentences).
