Description

This resource targets basic problem-solving of interoception processes, or physical sensations of the body, such as hunger, thirst, and nausea. Students use written and visual context to identify body signals, label how theyโ€™re feeling, and determine appropriate ways to manage each state. This activity supports essential functional skills, including: ๐Ÿ”Ž Recognizing and naming internal body sensations ๐Ÿ› ๏ธ Choosing appropriate strategies to regulate and respond to those sensations Students explore 10 interoceptive states (hot, awake, hungry, tired, thirsty, sick, cold, full, energetic, nauseated) through a consistent, scaffolded structure. Each sensation includes three parts to build understanding and carryover: ๐Ÿง  Label the sensation. Using a brief scenario and picture, students identify the physical feeling from four choices. ๐Ÿ› ๏ธ Problem-solve a response. Students select an appropriate way to manage or respond to the sensation from four options. ๐Ÿ’ฌ Make a personal connection.
