Description: This Phase Changes set of task cards focuses on the processes of melting, freezing, vaporization, and condensation. Students will answer questions about specific phase changes based on definitions and real-life scenarios and images. They will also distinguish between phase changes and other physical or chemical changes, and demonstrate understanding of how heat is gained or lost as matter changes between solid, liquid, and gas states. There are also questions about the boiling point and freezing point of water and melting point of ice. All questions are in multiple choice format with four answer options. Note: This set does not include questions about the role of kinetic energy in phase changes. A Phase Changes in Matter deck that includes the processes of sublimation and deposition is also available in the store. Cards will play in random order.
