Description: This is a FUN and ENGAGING Research-Based Activity that targets articulation through phonemic awareness and language based questions. It is also aligned with Common Core State Standards! The /r/ phoneme is broken down into word positions. 10 words in the initial position, 10 words in the medial position, 10 words in the final position, and then 10 words in all word positions. There are 10 phonemic/language based questions per word position! This download includes a total of 40 questions! Note-some questions may be similar and/or repeat for targeting /r/ in mixed position. RESEARCH-BASED- Research shows a direct correction between phonological awareness and articulation. Working on phonological awareness improves articulation skills. Phonemic awareness also predicts later outcomes in reading and spelling. For every word position, 10 phonemic or language questions are prompted. The student will drag the token to the correct answer! Select the next arrow to be directed to the following page.
