Description: Students build half steps and whole steps (semitones and whole tones) on the treble staff in this bird-themed deck. Most intervals begin on a white key, and almost every possible combination is represented (no repeats), Extra practice is given around the "danger zones" of E-F and B-C. Half step cards cover both SAME and DIFFERENT letter names (definitions for chromatic and diatonic are not presented in this deck.) Each card has both written and audio instructions. Students will drag a note to the correct position on the staff, then complete the half or whole step with an accidental, if needed. A keyboard diagram and draggable dots on each card allow for optional visual planning of each interval. Four teaching cards explain the concepts at the start of each round, followed by 16 randomized cards. Students will play a different combination of cards each time. This deck has been optimized for visual and aural accessibility. The drag-and-drop function may not be suitable for all students requiring motor accommodations. This deck covers material used in Royal Conservatory of Music (RCM) Theory Levels 1 through 4. (This is a supplement to RCM studies, and not a product of RCM.) Also correlates well with Piano Safari Levels 2 and 3, and Piano Adventures Levels 2 and up. Great for online or in-person piano lessons, theory classes, exam preparation, music classes, music labs, take-home activities, homeschooling, and device-based learning.
