Description: Do your students struggle to master the CH vs. TCH spelling rule? This deck can help! It contains 31 Drag and Spell cards to practice spelling these tricky words. This activity mimics the magnetic tiles used in many Orton-Gillingham programs, and it's a great way to build your students' phonics knowledge and introduce them to spelling words with these sounds. Using Elkonin boxes and letter tiles with one sound per letter also builds phonemic awareness! How it Works: Students see a picture and hear the word pronounced. Then they drag letter tiles into boxes to spell the word. Good to Know: • There are 31 cards in this deck. The first explains the spelling rule and the following 30 are spelling cards. • All the words contain closed syllables with short vowel sounds and range from 2 to 5 phonemes (including consonant blends and digraphs). If you'd prefer to skip any words, you can simply hide these cards. • Audio is provided for all instructions and for every word, so students can click to hear the word pronounced if they aren't sure what the picture is.
