He loves collecting e’s, but can only get them if you drop them for him. Does your base word end in an E? Maybe you can make our eel happy! Only if that suffix begins with a vowel such as -ING or -ED Eel is especially afraid of our most common suffix -s, the snake. Snake protects the consonant suffixes. Don’t anger that snake by dropping an e when you don’t need to! *Students will need to determine if e needs to be dropped or not with a simple mixed set of suffixes (-ing vs. -s) 6 spelling words practicing e-drop (or no drop) with -ing and -s Students are encouraged to "check the board" for spelling help.
