Description: Practice counting coins within $1! Ten of the cards are pictures of coins, and ten are types of coins written out (e.g., "4 dimes, 6 nickels, 1 penny"). For all cards, students type the total amount in cents. This activity addresses CCSS.MATH.CONTENT.2.MD.C.8: Solve word problems involving dollar bills, quarters, dimes, nickels, and pennies, using $ and ¢ symbols appropriately. Example: If you have 2 dimes and 3 pennies, how many cents do you have?
