Description: These carefully-created Trick Word fluency task cards are designed to supplement, enhance, or complement your 1st Grade FUNDATIONS® Level 1 program (2nd ed.). This resource mirrors the trick words taught in Unit 14, Week 1 (water; called) and Week 2 (day; may; way), and provides students with a cumulative review of grade-appropriate sight words and decoding skills. Each trick word is included in a decodable short story and illustration to put the targeted sight word in context. There are 12 self-correcting task cards (broken down by week) where STUDENTS HAVE TO: * read each trick word (2 cards; audio in context) * read a decodable short story and fill in the blanks with the trick word that makes the most sense (5 cards) * drag and drop words to make a complete sentence (5 cards)
