Description: Students are presented with snowman community helpers from the book "Snowman at Work." Students are asked "what" questions to label what the community helper does. Students are given 2 visual choices. Community workers targeted during this activity: - Doctor - Firefighter - Mechanic - Scientist - Painter - Dentist - Police Officer - Teacher - Baker - Construction Worker - Librarian - Magician Some of the following IEP goals can be targeted during this activity: - Wh Questions - Labeling Snowman Community Helper Functions - Associations (e.g. what does dentist need) - Identifying and Labeling Community Helpers - Expanding Utterances and Increasing MLU (e.g. can provide students with a sentence starter to expand their utterances and answering the WH questions).
