Description: This deck provides practice with wa words. The short a sound is altered when it comes after w in words such as wash and water. Students are asked to match words and pictures and fill in the blanks in sentences. Many of the words are single syllable. Some words included have two syllables. A few compound words are longer (watermelon). This can be a tricky pattern for some students and it is difficult to find resources for extra practice!
