Description: Target reading OR listening comprehension with these 14 highly engaging passages, 3 videos, and 50 questions (ranging from fill-in-the-blank questions to multiple choice or discussion/answer aloud). It also includes 2 drag and drop Venn diagrams for comparing what groundhogs eat vs. humans and comparing winter and spring. I've been using these passages since 2016 both in classrooms and in therapy sessions during the the entire week prior to Groundhog Day. It brings about so much debate and discussion! Questions target inferencing, deciphering vocabulary in context, comparing & contrasting, justifying responses with evidence, sharing opinions, making personal connections, and basic recalling. Passages can be used with individual students, for partner reading, or for small group or whole class discussion. To target listening comprehension, the teacher or therapist should read the passages aloud. Look at the preview to read all the instructions! I hope this information sparks some great conversations and learning! Happy Groundhog Day!
