Executive Functioning underlies the acquisition, development, and use of language and social skills. Often times when our students struggle with language or social interaction, it's due to fundamental difficulties with EF. Students are never too young to learn about Executive Function terms. If anything, they think it's very "cool" to learn these "grown up" words! Use this deck as a discussion point, for introducing some of the common EF terms, helping them understand them by going through the case study of "Izzy," and having them identify if they can relate to any of her challenges.
