Description: It's time for some fall fun! The children are raking leaves and watching the squirrels collect acorns for the upcoming winter! The squirrel who collects the most acorns wins! This activity is part of my First Work then Play Series. Do you have students that struggle with alternating their attention between work and play? If so, this resource is for you! In this series, children practice their targets first and then play a game. This resource is fall themed and includes 10 picture cues that target naming the functions of objects. Students of ALL ages love the surprise element of this game yet it is SIMPLE enough to use with your early learners. First Work: Model/elicit your targets. Then Play: Player 1 moves a leaf to see if there is an acorn under it. If there is, they drag and drop the acorn to the box labeled Player 1, and their turn ends. If there isn’t, it is Player 2’s turn. Player 2 moves a leaf to see if there is an acorn under it. If there is, Player 2 drags and drops the acorn to the box labeled Player 2, and their turn ends. If there isn’t, it is Player 1’s turn. Leaves can be discarded by swiping them off the left or right side of the screen. Play continues until all the leaves are gone. Player with the most acorns wins! As always, happy learning!
