Description: This Boom deck is designed to target production of initial /r/ blends. There are 3 games in this deck including 4 in a row (similar to Connect 4), word search, and memory game. 1. 4 in a row: This game includes 30 target words (i.e., dragon, cracker, train, bread, green, etc.). Clicking on a picture will lead you to a page where you will ask the student to practice the target word in the word, phrase, or sentence level. 2. Word search: The student will be asked to look for 5 words at a time that begin with an /r/ blend. These words may be found in a horizontal, vertical, or diagonal pattern. These may also be written backwards! An answer key is provided in the next page. 3. Memory game: When a student finds a pair, ask the student to practice the target word in the word, phrase, or sentence level.
