Aligned to CCSS: 4.NBT.B.5 . These 35 Thanksgiving math task cards provide practice in using the area model (also known as the box method) for multiplying 4 digit by 1 digit numbers. Students can practice applying the area method in a range of ways including solving multiplication problems, missing numbers, and true or false questions. The first slide provides an overview of the steps to solving a 4 x 1 digit multiplication equation using an area model.
