How Do Your Students Use These February Close Reading Passages? The close reading annotation marks are movable. Students drag and drop the marks to highlight the text as they read. After they’ve interacted with the text, they’ll move to the extension activity. It’s a great way for first graders to practice rereading and retelling the text.
