Description: Help your students increase their vocabularies and use more interesting words in their writing with these common synonyms Boom Cards. Each card features a different commonly used synonym and a word search. Students must first use the DRAW tool to find and circle 6 synonyms for the featured word. As a hint, the first letter of each synonym is provided on the answer chart. After finding a word, it must be typed into the correct box in the answer chart (the box next to the letter that the word starts with). The initial letters on the table are in alphabetical order. By not including a word list, students are required to think creatively to find the words. The initial letter given should be enough of a hint for the tougher words. Typing the words into the answer chart helps students to gain familiarity with lesser-known words and to practice spelling patterns.
