Description: These 36 task cards cover practice for voiceless and voiced th speech sounds, in words, in a fun and engaging basketball themed game format. There are 3 levels of play. For each level, students will be presented with sh, ch and j words which they have to verbally produce. On level one, there are 3 words. On level two, there are 4 words and on level three, there are 5 words. At each level of play, they repeat the words out loud until they have memorized them. This helps them easily name the missing word on the next card. The many repetitions of words help to reinforce correct production of the speech sounds in words. For students, repeating words goes from a boring task, to a task in which they compete against themselves to remember as many words as they can. When students play this game, they get practice producing th speech sounds at least 100 times. These speech sounds appear in the initial, medial, final positions of words. These Boom cards are aligned with Common Core State Standards (CCSS): SL.3.1,3.4,4.4,5.4.
