Description
This is a pack of social skills task cards to help teens (middle school and high school students) practice responding in basic, everyday social situations. Now, I can certainly put my hand up to working on more specific social skills (E.g. multiple interpretations, responding in conflicts, inferencing, the list goes on). However, it is sometimes the more basic social interactions that our students also need help with. They might be basic and simple for us, but our students who struggle with social skills can tend to freeze or not say enough in these situations. This can let them down. It can result in them not saying what they want and not sticking up for themselves. It can also hinder their ability to develop relationships, and can result in them coming across as rude or uninterested. These cards will help students practice identifying appropriate ways to respond in basic social scenarios. Regular education teachers, special education teachers, SLPs, or other support professionals could all benefit from using these task cards with their students.
