Video-modeling is an evidence-based intervention strategy that integrates visually cued instruction and the processes of observational learning. It has proven to be an effective intervention strategy for teaching children with developmental disabilities novel communication skills, social skills, play routines, self-regulation strategies, academic skills, and skills necessary for accessing the community. This Video Modeling Resource is designed to support teaching young children with developmental disabilities toy routines. The Boom Card Deck includes a video model (with simplified, but grammatically correct spoken narration and embedded visual models of core vocabulary) and digital play manipulatives (great for distance learning) for 10 familiar toys. Toys included: building bricks, play dough, blocks, cars, baby doll, tools, puzzle, tea party, vet, and potato toy. This resource also includes a Video Modeling PDF Guide with detailed explanations of the video modeling technique, including research and tips for implementation.
