Description: It's time for some tens and ones number sense practice using ten frames! This cute caramel apple unit is perfect as a fall math center. It includes 40 cards with 4 different activities! In activity one, students will look at the ten frames representing numbers using a full ten frame and another ten frame with ones. They'll find the number that matches on a caramel apple and click it. In activity two, students will build the number shown on a large caramel apple by adding to the ten frames. There is a full ten frame and students will drag and drop caramel apples into the second frame (representing the ones). In activity three, students will be dragging caramel apples to a ten frame to build a teen number. They'll then complete the addition equation using this number. For example, 10 + ? = 13. Students will drag 3 caramel apples to the ten frame and then type 3 into the box in the equation. For the final activity, students will look at the two apple trays. The first tray contains ten and the second has ones. Students will complete the number sentence by dragging and dropping the correct number into the box. This activity is great for building number sense with teen numbers and tens and ones. This is a fun activity for kindergarten and first grade students.
